Terms of Service

Kinvolume is operated by Lot 313, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“we”, “us”). These Terms are an agreement between you and us for your use of this website and of Kinvolume. They supplement the general Terms of Service of Lot 313, LLC (lot313.com/terms), which apply to anything these Terms do not cover; where the two conflict, these Terms apply to Kinvolume. By using Kinvolume you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What Kinvolume provides

Kinvolume: a free in-browser preview that lays out a GEDCOM family tree file as the pages of a family history book (cover, contents, person pages, family groups, descendant chart and index), with a downloadable watermarked preview PDF.

The preview runs in your browser as soon as you choose a file. Printed hardcover books are planned and are not on sale yet.

Kinvolume is a free online tool. There is nothing to buy and we do not ask for payment details.

Prices, payment and tax

Kinvolume is currently free and we sell nothing through this website. If we add a paid offer, its price and the payment terms will be shown before purchase and these Terms will be updated.

Refunds

Refund, shipping, print-defect and reprint terms for printed books will be published before ordering opens.

To ask for a refund, contact us (below) with the email address used at checkout. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method; your bank may take several business days to show them. Nothing here limits any refund right you have under applicable law.

Product terms

• The preview is a free tool that runs in your browser. Your GEDCOM file and the preview PDF stay on your device and are not sent to us, so the general terms about content you send us do not apply to them; you keep all rights in your file and in the PDF made from it.
• Kinvolume lays out pages from the file you give it. It does not check the file against any record, and the book is only as correct as the file.
• People with no recorded death who were born in the last 100 years, or who have no dates, are treated as possibly living and, with the hide switch on, shown by name only. This is a rule of thumb applied to the dates in your file; you are responsible for who appears in a book you share or print.
• The page count and page layout in the preview are estimates and may differ from a printed book.
• Kinvolume is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Ancestry, FamilySearch or MyHeritage.

Your responsibilities

Give accurate information, send us only content you have the right to share, and use Kinvolume lawfully. Do not misuse this website or interfere with its operation. We may refuse or cancel an order (with a full refund) that breaks these rules.

Intellectual property

You keep ownership of what you send us and permit us to use it only to provide Kinvolume to you. While you have access, you may use Kinvolume for your own business, and the documents and data you create with it remain yours. This website, the software and our materials otherwise remain ours.

No guarantee of results; disclaimer

We do not guarantee any business outcome, such as traffic, rankings, conversions or revenue. Apart from the commitments in these Terms and on the product page, Kinvolume is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Kinvolume or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for Kinvolume in the 12 months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability or consumer rights that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally.

Changes

We may update these Terms. The version on this page, with its effective date, applies to purchases made on or after that date.
