The steps on your family site
- Sign in to your family site on MyHeritage.
- Move your mouse over Family tree in the top menu and click Manage Trees.
- Next to the name of the tree you want, on the right, click Export to GEDCOM.
- On the next page, choose whether to include photos in the file.
- Click Begin the export, then download the file when it is ready.
The photo choice does not change what Kinvolume uses. A GEDCOM file does not hold the picture files themselves, only links to where they were. The book is laid out from names, dates, places and relationships.
If you use Family Tree Builder
MyHeritage's desktop program has its own export. Open your tree, click File in the top menu, choose Export GEDCOM, then click Save as and name the file.
If the export does not appear
Large trees can take a little while to prepare. Stay on the page until the download is offered. If your browser blocks the download, allow downloads from MyHeritage for this page and try again. Save the file somewhere you can find it again, such as your Downloads folder or your desktop, so it is easy to choose in the preview.
Check the file
The file should end in .ged. If you plan to share the book, remember that trees often include people who may still be alive. The Kinvolume preview shows possibly living people by name only unless you turn that off.
Then make the book
Open the free preview, choose the .ged file, pick the person the book starts from and choose Descendants or Ancestors. The file is read in your browser and is not uploaded.

The steps differ on Ancestry and FamilySearch.
